The Woodlands Fire Department The Woodlands Fire Department, Inc., is staffed with full-time, paid firefighters / emergency medical technicians on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The department has teams who are fully trained to respond to a wide variety of emergencies, including fires, medical calls, hazardous materials emergencies, swift water, high angle, trench, and collapse rescue. Funding for The Woodlands Fire Department is provided by the associations from property assessments, and in part by the Town Center Improvement District. The Woodlands Fire Department currently has six stations, five engine companies, three quints (ladders) and one Battalion Chief Unit in service. Other units include one hazardous materials unit, one heavy rescue unit, and two reserve engines. An Emergency Training Center was completed in Fall 2008 and Station 7 is scheduled to be completed in 2010 in Creekside Village, with a temporary station active in May 2009.The average response time is under five minutes.
